You can try and use any stylus which is compatible with your iPad. You can check compatibility with such a third-party stylus and your iPad before using it. However, the experience may not be at par with Apple Pencil as third party stylus uses different mechanisms to give a ‘pen’ experience!

As such, the DrawingApp does not restrict any stylus - it is the underlying operating system i.e. iOS and your Apple product - iPad or iPhone which should support.
